The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is larger measuring 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6mm with a weight of 195g. On the other end, the iPhone X measures 143.6 x 70.9 x 7.7mm and weighs 174g.
2. Security system
While Samsung opted to use the fingerprint security scanning system for unlocking the phone, Apple opted to get rid if this system and instead chose the Face ID, which is a security system that works by scanning the face to unlock the phone.
3. Color variations
The iPhone X comes in two colors, silver and space gray. But the Galaxy Note 8 offers four color variations including midnight black, deepsea blue, orchid gray, and maple gold.

In this section, the iPhone X stands a better chance as it offers two storage options, with capability to expand storage excluded. The phone comes in 64GB and 256 GB options. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 offers you 64GB storage with expandable microSD allowance.
As expected, the software used on the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 are different. The Note 8 uses the Android 7.1.1 Nougat, which will soon be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo. When you switch to the iPhone X, you are given the iOS 11. These OS options offer greater multitasking capability, which means you can run several apps side by side on one screen.
