A few years ago, almost in 2016, I heard about digital marketing which includes SEO, SMM, PPC, etc. So, I started searching about these terms and their techniques. When I searched I saw some terms like keywords, ranking, organic traffic, AdWords or more.
But I don’t knew how to apply these terms and from where should I start my journey?
Although there are many blogs related to SEO but it was quite hard to decide which blog I should read for learning because every author has shared their technique and strategies.
I struggled between the plethora of posts, tutorials and videos to learn. And I don’t want the novice SEOs should go through the same phase.
So, I’m writing this short guide to tell how to start your SEO journey.
If you want to start your career in digital marketing (online marketing) you should start from SEO (Search Engine Optimization). The maximum amount of material is available for SEO on Internet so, you can easily learn and push forward your career in it.

SEO depends on the Google updates and it is changing rapidly from the past few years.
In the beginning, it was just a quantity of the links which matters to rank website on Google but now SEO is all about quality content, quality backlinks, website optimization and keywords used without stuffing. Things are changing quickly!
Make sure you give people the stuff which they want to read. In this way, you will get organic traffic and your website will rank on Google.
Knowhow of HTML
If you think having a technical background is important to learn SEO then it’s only a misconception that is prevailing without reasons.
It’s important to know the basics of HTML to boost your SEO skills. So, instead of discouraging yourself for not having a degree, you can take the Internet help to know about HTML.
HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) is used at the backend of every website. It is also a part of SEO which is known as technical SEO.
Start Practicing SEO
If you have read everything about SEO, still you can’t be a good SEO until you gain practical experience of it because practicing will make you perfect.
